installed SP4 onto win2K SP3 without a problem.

rebooted to finish install, and got BSOD :
STOP: c0000218 {REGISTRY HIVE FILE}
the registry cannot load the hive (file):
\SystemRoot\System32\Config\SOFTWARE
or its log or alternate
it is corrupt, absent, or not writable.
beginning dump of physical memory.
physical memory dump complete.
contact your sys admin.......

rebooted about 15mins later, and got BSOD :
STOP : 0x00000051 (0x0000000C, 0xC0000005, 0xBF91ABB4,
0xBF91A80C)
REGISTRY_ERROR
beginning dump of physical memory.
physical memory dump complete.
contact your sys admin.......

thanks for the info....
as i understand it, these are SP3 problems
which were supposedly solved by SP4....
but the problem occurred only after i installed SP4....

which leads me to believe that SP4 did not install
correctly, contrary to the what the dialog box told me at
the end of installing....

the SP4 install i used was downloaded from microsoft,
the network installation version, W2KSP4_EN.exe....
maybe i performed the install incorrectly?
