STOP: 0x000000F4 on 1GB CF

Bill

This is regarding my previous query and reply from KM.
Here is the discussion:

Hi
I have two compact flash cards, one with 512 MB and the other with 1 GB
capacity.
The Xp embedded OS built for my target is working properly with 512 MB flash
without any hurdles. The same image is giving Stop error: 0x000000f4
consistently on 1 GB card during FBA(PNP installation phase).

About Error:
A process or thread crucial to system operation has unexpectedly exited or
been terminated.
STOP: 0x000000F4(0x00000003,0x84FD2A78,0x84FD2BEC,0x805FEFC0)

The post FBA image( run on 512 MB card) is working properly on 1 GB card
without any error.

* I have verified for the partition numbers(arc path) and target machine
settings(boot partition size) in target designer.

The FBA error log does not give any information on the error.

Please help.

Thanks,

Bill,

Are you doing FBA on the CF cards? This may not be a good idea and may wear
out some blocks on the card quickly. FBA heavily uses the target storage.

Also, check out setupapi.log file to see more info on the failure.

Also, see how you connect the CF to your target:

I have to do FBA on CF card and the take a master image of it to ghost on
rest of the CF cards.I will not be doing FBA on all CF cards.

There is absolutely no information about the error in setupapi.log or any
other log files.

I tried out all combinations of connecting CF as per the info in
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;330100 . Even tried
with different cables. I am still getting the same error.

I understand doing FBA may affect the life of CF, but why am i getting the
blue screen error?

It is very critical for me to resolve this. Please help.
