Is there any particular point where the startup seems to stop? Anything on
the screen at the time? Is this before, or after you logon?

The computer seems to slow down at the time when I see my desktop in front
of me.
Until that point it's OK.
I have a red X in front of the Norton logo next to the clock for a long
time.
I can move my mouse around and it looks normal while on the desktop, but if
I put the mouse over the Taskbar, it turns into an hour glass. Move it away
from the Taskbar and it's back to being a regular arrow until the computer
is ready, which is about two minutes.

Seems like Norton AV (NAV) is looking for something, bur can't find it. Is
there anything reported in the Windows Event Log (Start -> Settings ->
Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Event Viewer)?
If so, please post the Event ID, Source and Description.

and it will show a list of the warnings or errors. Click
on one of these warnings or errors to show the details of

I'm not getting any errors.
I think, or at least Norton seems to be "fighting" with Sygate during the
startup process.
Does that make any sense.
Is it possible to adjust the booting sequence?
