Note: This is the evaluation version only. But gives you
Basic Programmers Guide (English Language Only).
Setup Guide/User's Guide.

Be interesting to see if the extra Templates/Fonts/etc are usable in
OpenOffice.org.

I guess almost everyone knows that StarOffice is not freeware, but it
might not be a bad idea to point it out.

Yep, my oversight. But as I posted in a follow up it will be interesting
to see what templates/macros/etc are usable in OpenOffice.org. In >theory<
they should transfer as the format is Open (ie: XML).

It's been reviewed as being substantially faster than Star Office 6.
Comparisons with the latest OOo release candidates will be interesting.

Also be interesting to see what is in this release but not in OOo as a
pointer to the future. I want to compare the import/export filters to see
if things may improve in that area.

Well, the templates from the beta versions of SO 7 (which were called
6.1 betas) all work just fine in OOo.

Thanks a lot for the info.

By that logic we might as well include any and all payware office
suite apps to see if their templates or macros are compatible with
OpenOffice.
