standby and hibernate not available

Hello

I am running windows XP, and the Standby and Hibernate options are not
available anywhere in windows XP. I have an amd 2100+ XP, 256mb pc266 ram,
MSI ms 6712 board, obly 3 months old.
In hardware>device manager it says ACPI Uniprocessor PC. Running XP Pro, all
latest patches included.

Any ideas?

Regards

Jim

Did Standby and Hibernate work before? If this just happened, it may
be related to an update you installed, new program, new drivers. Go
back over what you've done to the machine and try to isolate when the
Standby and Hibernate features were no longer available. You may be
able to use System Restore to recover the system to back when they
were working.
