standard vga driver

does anyone know how to load a standard vga driver to
check if my problem is with the video driver? When I go
to the device manager and select the properties of the
display adapter it only shows me a partial list of driver
to choose from. In older versions of windows you could
choose a microsoft standard vga driver

When you reboot your system, hold down the F8 key and it will give you the
option to boot to "Enable VGA Mode". This will allow you to boot to
standard VGA and troubleshoot your system.
