sometimes when my compter restarts it changes the setting
for my sound card.

i have an sb aud gamer 5.1, but when the system restarts
it says i have 2 speakers or quad sound.

anyone else having this issue, if so can you help.

Hi Scott:
That good old Sound Blaster can be a pain. I use
SB LIVE 5.1 Platinum and did have trouble with sound. Did
you do a Diagnostic Test? If it does not pass the test it
will tell you if you have drivers missing. If you did pass
the test then go to START >SETTINGS>CONTROL PANEL>SOUNDS
AND AUDIO DEVICES now click on AUDIO then VOLUME. You need
to remove any audio settings that you do not use or put a
check mark at the bottom to disable it. This will control
your volume.LOL
