Hi

What kind of 'useless' files do you mean - 3rd party installation files or
Windows files?

Hi

Run Disk Cleanup and the Defrag program. They should clear out a few files.
You can also uninstall various Windows apps. - if need be - via Add/Remove
Programs>Add/Remove Windows Components.

Some of the uninstallers for 3rd party programs don't seem to uninstall all
the dross that is put onto the hard disk. By that I mean, some Registry
entries and files may be 'left behind' when the program is uninstalled,
making it difficult to delete them at a later date.

Check here for info on spyware, malware etc

Unnecessary files can include Temporary Internet Files, Cookies, History and
files found in TEMP folders. There are numerous other files that aren't
absolutely necessary such as .BAK files but one should know what they are
re removing before arbitrarily deleting things.

Windows Explorer. Simply select each file you *know* to be useless,
and then delete it.
