Slide x of X instead of just slide # on slides

I am trying to find a way to put the slide number and the total number of
slides in the deck on each slide in the corner where the slide number
usually goes, so it displays as they are viewed (like this: "Slide 1 of 36",
or even just "1 of 36"), but haven't found any way to do that in PowerPoint
itself. Is there a way to do that in VBA? Has anyone here done anything like
that?

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

If you want a manual solution, when your presentation is done and you know
the total number of slides, click "View", "Master", "Slide Master". Click
inside the bottom right slide number placeholder before the "<#>" and type
"Slide ". Click after the "<#>" and type " of 34" (or whatever your total
slide count is).

There you go!
