slide show does not fit on screen

A very strange problem is occurring since 2 weeks in Powerpoint 2000.
Whenever I connect a projector to my laptop, and press slide show, then only
about 25% of the slide is viewed on screen (only the upper left corner), on
the laptop as well as on the projector screen. I tried adjusting the page
size, and the resolution of the display (to 800x600) but that did not work.
Powerpoint itself is correctly displayed on screen, only when I press slide
show (F5) it messes up.

I cannot give any slide shows anymore with my laptop, very annoying. How can
this problem be fixed?

Are both the laptop screen and the projector set to 800x600? Have you tried
it with both set to 1024x768?

Yes, I tried 800x600, 1024x768 on my laptop, and the projector
automatically refreshes. Since the projector DOES show everything else
correctly (i.e. the desktop and the powerpoint program), it seems to be an
error in powerpoint when doing a slide show. I never had this problem and
did not change video drivers, it just occurred 2 weeks ago and does it all
the time now.

So what else happened two weeks ago? Did you install any new software or
hardware?

Have you called the projector manufacturer or checked their website?

You might also check in Slide Show/Setup Show to make sure that you don't
have anything odd set there. Also check to ensure that you have the correct
screen set to primary monitor. (Right-click desktop and choose Properties.)
