Sideways screen image?

I got a call from a guy today who was messing around with his video settings
who said he ended up with his screen image rotated 90 degrees. I suggested
he lie on his side or turn the monitor on its side, but he didn't like those
suggestions. He says everything, icons, background is rotated. I initially
thought he had dragged the toolbar to the side, but it doesn't sound like
it. I won't get to see it until tomorrow am. I have never seen nor heard of
this happening and was wondering if anyone in the group has heard of this.
Appreciate your comments.

I understand that some graphics cards are equipped to rotate images for use
with monitors which can be flipped from landscape to portrait orientation.
Might be that he triggered this in his.

NVidia drivers do this... Wish I could do the same on my ATI Radeon card.
