Sharing Calendar - Permissions

Hello,

I would like to share my calendar with other users but only in this manner:
- User can see the calendar folder
- User can see the moments that I am busy
- User can NOT open the individual items and see details about a meeting

Is there a custom way to achieve this?

Thanks

If you are running on Exchange. Those are the settings with NO PERMISSION
given.

Go have a look at the Calendar of your most senior manager - you'll see when
they're Free/Busy/out of Office but no details (unless you have permissions
to their calendar)

Users can view your Calendar when they make an appointment and invite you OR
by using the Group Schedules function. If you have 2002 or 2003 that is!

PLEASE at least state your version when you post a question.

Unfortunately, this is not the case. We are using Exchange with Outlook 2003

I can not see my collegues calendar at all (can't acces the folder)
When he clicks on "Share My Calendar", a dialog appears.
Then he adds my user, but then what "Permission Level" should we use?

Reviewer permission level seems to be the "lowest" type, but that gives read
access as well.

So basically, by default, we can't open someone elses calendar, but when
that person tries to give permissions, those access rights are too wide.

Any way of modifying this behaviour?

Thanks

With no permissions you can:

See others' meetings and availability - go look 'cause if it's not working
you are having Exchange problems with Free/busy data.

You cannot see others' Calendar folders without permission but I don't think
you need to. Go and try the Group Schedules function. Most people don't
need to open the folder - they just need to see availability so stop
focussing on being able to open the folder.

Try these suggestions, they work for millions of other people. Your solution
does not exist.

I can see the plannings, but only when the meeting time is already planned.
This isn't what I was looking for.

Ok, this solution doesn't exist. But I still think this is not something
that is useless.

The reason for such a functionnality is clear. In the current situation, you
must plan a meeting at a specific time and then add the people you want in
order to see if they are free. If not, then you must navigate through a view
which only allows you to see about a day at a time. Not very pratical...

Now, teams do not always work like that. It happens often that in order to
plan a meeting, you would like to know what are the free "slots" in a week
that would fit most plannings. The view where you open the user's calendar
folder is ideal for such planning. Especially when external people are
involved and give you a few choices for a meeting date.

Anyway, this isn't to start a debate, but only to indicate that millions of
people do it the way you say, but I would think that it is simply because
another way doesn't exist. Maybe this suggestion could be taken into account
for future releases. Especially since it does exist but not with the correct
permission levels.

Thank you for your time and for the input

Would you PLEASE TRY USING GROUP SCHEDULES as you are still wrong in your
latest reply: "I can see the plannings, but only when the meeting time is
already planned. This isn't what I was looking for."

You don't need to make a meeting to view availability. In 2002 ad 2003 there
is a Group Schedules function. I have now told you about it 3 times. If
you're going to some here and ask for advice at least take the time to read
it.

OK before you get angry, please understand that I DID LOOK into this...It
doesn't address the issue I was mentionning. It is not quite practical as it
is when you open other calendars together... You might not have understood my
explainations or they might not have been clear enough.

BUT I did understand that what I am asking for doesn't exist and that is all
there is to know.

Have a nice day
