Services Won't Start

We have 4 services that are set to automatically start but they never do upon
reboot. When I try to manually start them, I receive an error message. The
services are DevMon, NetworkService, RemoteProcedureCall (RPC) Extensions,
and XVGA. Are these services needed? If so, how can I get them to start
properly?

Here are the error messages I receive when I try to manally start them:

Microsoft Management Console
Could not start the DevMon service on Local Computer.
Error 1: Incorrect function.

Microsoft Management Console
Could not start the Network Service service on Local Computer.
Error 1: Incorrect function.

Microsoft Management Console
Could not start the RemoteProcedureCall (RPC) Extensions service on Local
Computer.
Error 2: The system cannot find the file specified.

Microsoft Management Console
Could not start the XVGA service on Local Computer.
Error 2: The system cannot find the file specified.

BTW, this is a W2K Server on SP 4.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

AFAIK none of them are installed with the operating system.

Is there anywhere where I can determine which programs are associated with
those services? Thanks for your reply.

Look for the EXE found in the Reg_Expand_Sz named "ImagePath" found in the
registry service subkey for the service. The file properties or location may
provide some clue.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services

Navision service not starting

Not sure if this will help you but had the same problem and looked at your post to try to find the answer.

I solved this issue by running the batch file in the attain folder.

File name on my system was navstart.bat.

After I ran the batch file I started the services and things were good to go.
