Service Pack 2--Got me screwed. Windows GURUS I need your help!!!!

After installing Service Pack 2 I've got Problem(s):
1) Right-clicking on a File or Shortcut(created by me or an application
previously) I'm getting this error message box: Message box header
says:"explorer.exe-Application Error". The body of the message box says:"The
instruction at "0x021d415b" referenced memory at "0x00000000'. The memory
could not be "written".
Click on OK to terminate the program.
Click on Cancel to debug the program." End of message.
So, practically, I can't open file's or shortcut's properties. The Bug
starts Dr. Watson debugging tool or tries to launch Visual Studio on the
other computer for debugging.

2) I can't delete a file on the Desktop because the System either freezes up
or tries to launch any debugging tool available. If I try to disable(through
Windows registry) launching of any available debugging tool then the System
throws the above mentioned Message Box.

This unpleasant thing happened to both of my computers with Windows XP Pro
and the comps had all previous updates installed. But, surprisingly, one of
my friends doesn't have any problems so far.

So, I would like to ask anybody, who knows, to help me fix this Bug.
I haven't seen this Bug since Windows 95-98 and don't remember the cause of
that any longer.

Thanks a lot in advance.

Then read the threads on this newsgroup. It is well documented.

Yes, I had Dr. Divx 1.0.5 installed. I've have unistalled it anf left only
DivX player and everything got streightened out. It helped a lot. I don't
have to re-install everything on both computers. Thanks a lot, Jones!
