Server/Client access

Amika

I am running Windows 2000 servers and Windows XP clients.
I would like to know if it is possible, from my server or
a terminal services connection to the server, to place a
file or an .exe on a clients desktop? What services need
to be turned on and is this possible on Win2K server. I
did this on Windows NT server, but cannot figure out how
on 2000 to XP clients.

Thanks,

Hello Amika,

If the server and the XP clients are members of the same workgroup
and are able to see each other, then you can browse to the XP client's
hidden share (C$) from the server and then place the file on the desktop.

Ofcourse this requires that you need the proper credentials to access the XP
client.
