Sent items: Cannot view messages in sent items folder

The option to automatically save messages in sent items folder is checked,
however, I cannot see any mail. But according to the folder size there are
items in the sent items folder. So far I found the only way to view the sent
items is to switch to cached Exchange mode. I even tried logging onto a
different computer and configuring Outlook, which gave me the same result
until I switched it to cached exchange mode. Does anyone have any idea what
could be causing this and why I would not be able to view the sent items when
I'm not using cached exchange mode?

I am having the exact same issue with the Deleted Items folder, and it's
driving me insane. If I turn on Cached Exchange Mode, anything in the
Deleted Items folder shows up just fine. However, once I turn it off, when I
click the Deleted Items folder, it says "Unable to display the folder." I
don't want to use Cached Exchange Mode if I can help it because I've run into
other network issues with that on my network.

By the way, this doesn't happen when I use Outlook 2002 to connect to the
same mailbox - OR if I use OWA.

Sorry for the double response, but since I posted my last message, I have
found the answer - at least for my issue.

Try running Outlook with the /cleanviews switch. To do this:

Click Start
Choose Run
Type outlook.exe /cleanviews
Click OK

Evidently, this cleaned up my views and allowed me to see my Deleted Items
again. Hopefully, this will help you as well.
