Search Companion vs Windows Classic Search

Suddenly, my search companion feature is switching back
to classic internet search. I click start, search,
change preferences...and get it back to "with search
companion", reboot, and lo and behold the next time that
I open IE it's back to classic. And no, I can't change
it from IE because the customize button does nothing.
This has happened on occasion before and I've always been
able to change it back without any problem, but now it
won't change back and stay that way. Suggestions please!

Check the settings in TweakUI > Explorer. You can switch between
Classic Search and Search Companion here as well. TweakUI is available
from http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp.
