Screen Resolution wont stick

I have windows xp and every time we log on, the screen resolution defaults
back to a large size and then we have to change it. I have tried with
different profiles and the same thing happens. Could this be a driver issue
or something else. I saw a link with a utility to install but is there
another way around... Im not suppose to be installing anything non standard
on the pc

Hi

Have you downloaded/installed the latest drivers for your video card from
the manufacturer's web site?

it must be a driver problem... try downloading the latest driver for your
display adapter
.. If its an ATI go to the ATI.com site if its nvidia go to nvidia.com
in general if you are using the generic drivers XP has try to find the ones
from the site that made youd card.

The truth is one, you must accept it. Reality is not a point of view, since
if everything was a point a view, then the theory that everything is a point
of view, is just a point a view and not something real.

sounds like you need to re-install your display adapter (graphics card)
drivers ... if you have a CD containing the drivers ... remove the display
adapters in Device Manager reboot .. Windows will find 'new' hardware and
re-install the drivers. .. you may need to tell windows where to search for
the driver (a dialogue box appears allowing you to do this)

"not supposed to be installing..."

Is this by any chance a company computer??

If so then this may be by design. They may have a very valid reason
for you to be running it in a specific resolution. (Though you would
think they would disable your ability to change it if they were"
