Scheduled Tasks Failure 0x1f

B

Bob Miller

I have a hard drive backup scheduled weekly. It has
begun to fail always with an exit code of "1f". I have
been unable to find any information about that error code.

I have created a new scheduled task to do the backup,
same failure.

I run the same backup outside of the scheduler and it
succeeds.

It is not a password problem, I have re-entered my
password repeatedly.

Any suggestions?

Hello Bob,

Are we backing up to a tape drive? to a file on a hard drive?
Is the backup device on the same system we are doing the backup on?
What is the complete text of the error message when the backup fails?

Here is an article they may help:

Library

Please post back the answers to the above questions so that we are better
able to ascertain the issue.

I am backing up to a network disk drive.

The complete text from the Scheduler's log is:
"Weekly Backup.job" (NTBACKUP.EXE)
Finished 10/15/2003 4:06:38 PM
Result: The task completed with an exit code of
(1f).

I took a brief look at the article you suggest, but it
appears to only be applicable to tape backups. I will
look in more detail when I leave the meeting I am
currently in.

Thanks for your quick response...Bob

Hi Bob,

Other than running a "Clean Boot" on the system (to see if some other
program or process is interfering),
I really don't have much else to offer you on this error message. It may be
best to call in for support on this one.
