Saving Movie to hard drive - movie is half blank or 1 frame for mo

Hello. I am in the process of making a year end video for my inner city school where I work. I have put pictures and video from a Sony cam and digital camera into Movie Maker 2 (with Digital Media plus) and when saving movie to computer, the video is half processed and is either black screen or has 1 frame for the rest of the movie. This happens at different points in the movie each time. I've shut off the autosave, updated my codecs, and still this happens. I thought this just might be my laptop, but then the same thing happens on my desktop. Both the laptop and desktop have 750 MB ram or 1 Gig repectivley and tons of hard drive space.

I called Microsoft and they told me that my OEM should support the software. The OEM says that Microsoft should support it.

This Thursday, I am supposed to show this video at our year end ceremony. I am going to have a ton of disappointed kids (and teachers)

Please help!

There's a number of things it could be. See the Problem Solving > Can't Save
a Movie page of my site.

I've checked the codecs, the dll mentioned on your site
and I've been trying to save using AVI and it seems to be
working. I'll keep my fingers crossed and hope that this
works - I don't want to let 650 children down this
Thursday. Thanks for supporting me when Microsoft
wouldn't! :)

Were you able to get this to work?
I am having the same problem and can't get it resolved.
Microsoft gave me the same runaround you metion below.
Actually they told me I should use Adobe Premiere or some
other software next time.

You can reply to me directly at (e-mail address removed) or post
here.

Thanks!
