Whilst gathering Saved Games and Game Profiles in Vista in readiness to change to Win 7 I thought it would be a good idea to have a sticky thread here detailing those locations.

So here's a few to start, I will add more and if you'd like to contribute with game/profile locations in Vista/Win 7 then post here and I'll add them to this first post.

Incidentally, it's worth mentioning that if you go to the games folder in Vista and right click on a game's icon, Saved Games/Profiles appear on a drop down menu.

To view all the folders in most locations you will need to activate 'View all files and folders' within Control Panel/Folder Options/View.

Ok then, to start off:

Wolfenstein:

C:/Users/Your Name/App Data/Local/id Software/WolfSP/Base/Savegames

Call Of Duty World At war:

C:/Users/Your Name/App Data/Local/Activision/CoDWaW/Players/Profiles or Saves

Call Of Duty 4:

C:/Program Files/Activision/Call Of Duty 4 – Modern Warfare/Players/Profiles

And here's a variation of locations as supplied by V_R :thumb:

Windows Vista/Win7 x86:

With UAC Disabled:
C:\Program Files\Activision\Call Of Duty 4 – Modern Warfare\players\profiles\(your profile name)

With UAC Enabled:
C:\Users\(your username)\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\players\profiles

Windows Vista/Win7 x64

C:\Program Files\Activision\Call Of Duty 4 – Modern Warfare\players\profiles\(your profile name)

With UAC Enabled:
C:\Users\(your username)\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\players\profiles

Thanks V_R.

Never realised UAC made a difference to location.

My CoD4 saves/profile is located where I've listed above on Vista with UAC disabled.

I will add the rest shortly.

But not XP, this thread is concerned only with locations within Vista/Win 7.

I always found for the most part Savegame/Profile locations were quite easy to find within XP.
