Ok so when firing up the computer i get the message:-

error loading c:\windows\system32\NVCPL.Dll the specified module could not be found

Now i know this is a problem with the graphic card as i have checked other posts but the problem i have is after this message my screen just stays black and i can do no more.

I am using an acer aspire machine with McAfee as my security.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Yep

its your Nividia control panel dynamic link library file

Boot into safe mode (F8)

uninstall your gfx drivers then reboot

Then reinstall your gfx card drivers and reboot
