Rules no longer work After Office 2003 SP1 install.

I've posted this before - I am hoping in posting it again I will be able to
resolve this issue - I know
I am not the only person having this problem so any help would be gratefully
received in resolving it.

I have just upgraded Office 2003 to SP1 as well as installing the new junk
mail update and my Outlook 2003 rules no loner work when Outlook is open -
If I close it and reopen it all the rules then work but any subsequent
e-mails that come in while outlook is running do not work.
If I hit Send/Receive after the e-mails arrive the rules then work.
Any ideas as to why this should suddenly start happening? I have even
re-created all my
rules but to no avail - Before the installation of these updates everything
worked fine.

Any help would be gratefully received -

Regards,

Michael Hewson MCP

An ordinary SMTP exchange account - all mail is stored on the server and
then delivered into a Personal folder on the user's PC.
The mail is delivered in Cached mode to the personal folder - however the
mail then does not get redirected to the relevant folders as it should do as
designated by the rules I have set. It stays in the Inbox. However if I then
click on Send/Receive All from the toolbar, the mail then gets sent to the
relevant folders as designated by my rules.

I have a similar problem and, so far, I have failed to
find a solution. I'm a home user using Windows XP SP1,
Outlook 2003 SP1 and (since it may be relevant Norton
Systemworks (including Antivirus) and Internet Security at
version 2004.

I have 3 rules set to permanently delete spam. Prior to
updating the spam engine and Office 2003 SP1 the rules
worked beautifully but now they simply fail to fire. If I
manually run the rules they work but never do so as th
email itself comes into my Inbox.

Here's hoping for a rapid solution as Microsoft is
supposed to be leading a great fight against spam; it's
just rendered my best defence impotent!

I remember this thread now... there are 3 of you know reporting the same
configuration where mail from an Exchange mailbox is being delivered to a
personal folders file. What happens if you reverse the idea... leave the
Exchange mailbox as the primary delivery location and use rules to move
items accordingly?

This option appears to work if you have the primary delivery location as the
Exchange server mailbox. All the rules appear to transfer OK.

However using the ".pst" file you have to select Send/Recieve to get them to
move to the designated locations.
