routing table issue diff. NT 4.0 vs 2000 server

Cpenna

I had a nt 4.0 server on the network. the default gateway
was to the linksys router pointing to the net. i had
changed the routing table to resolve ip to another router,
which worked fine. NOW i have just implemeted a 2000
server to the network with the same setting, the only
diff. is the 2000 server box has DNS.
Can someone help

routing table has been edited and that didnt work.
the issue is the 2000 server is capable of getting to the
internet with the gateway pointing too the linksys router
(isp) but the clients are unable too. the clients are
able to see the server which has the default gateway
pointing to the server address. so the server is acting
as the router.

what i added in the route table is two ip addresses to
look to another router which the server also can ping and
access. Is it somthing in DNS that needs to be edited?
and if so how would i go about that. does the gateway to
the internet need to be in placed in the dns and where?
