Routing and remote access fail

DAVE

When starting ""routing and remote access service "on
computer running windows xp pro the service stops and an
error code 340 is listed for shutting down the service,
can not locate error 340 on any site. Another web site
indicated that windowsupdate.xtml was responsible for the
service not starting. This did not work on my pc. If
anyone has a solution, please advise. Thanks in advance.

Try checking to see that the Remote Access Connection Manager Service
is started or enabled... This solves most of the RRAS problems in XP.

Try updating your MDAC components

Another person has had the same problem in the past and upgrading the
MDACs helped solve it. Report back if it does...
