rotate the dvd view from landscape to portrait orientation

The video I made with my digital camera appeared in landscape orientation
when i transferred the video to the computer (it plays sideways). how can i
rotate it and play it normal?

What format is the video. If not MPEG2 then it can be edited in Movie Maker
which has a "rotate 90" effect that can be applied to the video clip.

If MPEG2 then you need to either convert it to and Avi format using
"VirtualDubMod" or use some other program to edit it.
