Ripping Cd Tracks

Can you actually set the speed at which you copy (rip)cd
tracks to your computer? I know you can use different
speeds for "burning",but someone asked me at what speed is
the best for copying.I was not aware that you could do
this (or if it is in fact possible). If you can do this
please explain how it is done.
Thanks In Advance

WMP and other software will rap at the highest speed possible for your
drive.

Thank's Chris,that's what I thought.They were under the
impression that you could adjust the "rip" speed as you
can do when burning a cd.They must have got the two terms
mixed up.
