rights and permissions change when users change their password

I have 40 XP Pro computers running on a mixed network (NT
and Novell). When logs into one of the XP computers, there
are no problems. When they change their password, they
lose all of their display settings and lose all
permissions. They are no longer able to run programs from
their computer or the network.

Any ideas?

We have a Windows NT 4.0 Domain. The users log in to both
Novell and NT, using the Novell Client for XP.

Have you check with Novell for the most current client ?
This sounds like the password is not being kept in sync
somehow so that log in works but access to some of their
file storage, such as where profiling is redirected does not.
