Right Click Open New Window not working, please help.

I have a strange problem that started occurring suddenly. When I right-click
on a hyperlink and click on Open in a New Window, the page loads in the same
window! I cannot get multiple instances of Internet Explorer to run. Even
pressing 'Control-N' does not open a new window separately from the existing
one; rather a new window loads overwriting the existing one. When I
right-click to Open a New Window or press Control-N, the window that loads
does not have the 'Back' button enabled, so that there is no way to go back
to the previous window.

Please help.

I forgot to mention that I tried the steps mentioned in KB281679 and
elsewhere and re-registered all the DLLs. But this did not help at all.

Update/reinstall your scripting engines from here:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/downloads/list/webdev.asp

If still no joy, go to File Types (My Computer...Tools...Folder
Options...File Types tab)
Scroll down to the URL: Hypertext Transfer Protocol file type, click to
highlight, click Edit, click Open, click Edit (slightly different with Me -
click to highlight, click Advanced, click Open, click Edit).

Application used: "C:\PROGRA~1\INTERN~1\iexplore.exe" -nohome
Use DDE box should be checked
DDE Message: "%1",,-1,0,,,,
Application: IExplore
DDE...not running: <blank>
Topic: WWW_OpenURL

Okay out.

Hi,
If the Yahoo toolbar is listed in Add/remove programs, uninstall it. It can
cause this problem. You may have to expand another Yahoo listing (in
add/remove) to get to the toolbar. Or, another toolbar which has a pop-up
blocker may be the culprit.

Hope this helps,
Don
