Retrieve Unused Desktop Icons

Someone in the house ran the unused desktop function and it deleted a folder
that I kept all of our family photos in. In the Help & Support on our
Computer it says to retrieve them from the Unused Icons folder located on the
desktop - only that doesn't exist. I ran a search of my computer for
anything containing "unused" but nothing came up. Does anyone know where I
can find my folder?? Please!? Any help would be VERY VERY helpful as it
contained a lot of pictures that can not be replaced. My direct email is
(e-mail address removed). Thanks so much for your help!

One suggestion.. Do a search for the name of the folder.

Hi Elmo,
I did a search for the folder name, which was Photos, and it brings up
something in my "Recent" folder but when I try to click on the icon for
Photos it says that Windows can not locate the folder?

Search for file names -- *.jpg for example.

Good luck!

The fifth paragraph states:

"The icons are not deleted, they are moved to a folder and you can put
them back on the desktop if you want. The folder that is automatically
created the first time the Wizard removes icons is C:\Documents and
Settings\UserName\Desktop\Unused Desktop Shortcuts."

I wonder if your "Folder Options View" settings are hiding the folder..
Set to show hidden files and folders and see if that helps you locate it.
