Is it possible to restore my computer back to the
original factory shipped condition without having to do a
clean install? Any magic wands in the xp system that
will do this?

You could use system restore. Start menu, all programs,

accessories, system tools, restore wizard, then choose
your restore point (only if you hadn't formatted the hard
drive of got a new one)
