Resolution Notice message

Charles

Every two or three minutes I get a blue & green box that
pops up in the middle of the screen which says

RESOLUTION NOTICE

For best picture quality, change
resolution to 1024 x 768

1: Exit 2: Disable

Of course pressing 1 or 2 only types a 1 or 2 in whatever
document I'm working on.

When I go to "Start", "Control Panel", "Appearance &
Themes", "Change Screen Resolution", it shows my
resolution at 1024 x 768 and the display is "ViewSonic
VA520-2 on NVIDIA GeForce FX5200". Color quality
is "Highest" at 32-bit.

If anyone could tell me how to make this message go away I
would appreciate it.

Thanks

If anyone knows h

Since you are using a Geforce card, my recomendation is to go to
www.nvidia.com and download the latest drivers.

Install them, restart your PC. Set your Display properties again to whatever
you want, and the problem should go away. That's what I'd do first anyway.

looks to me that it is the monitor that is bringing this message up, reminding you that as you are usign an LCD display your display will look best at the res the screen was designed for. If you say that you are using this res then I would ignore this message. I dont have a viewsonic screen, but i think my dad does and if i remeber correctly the buttons on the monitor it self are numbered 1 and 2. Hopefully pressing the 2 button will disable this 'helpful' reminder message.
