Renaming of computer name in a domain still shows old name in AD Computers

Hi all,

Past few months we have enamed several machine, btu have found that their
old names are still keeped in Active Directory Computers OU.

Is there a reason for this, what is the best way to purge non-existent
computer names from AD.
