Remote Desktop Connection 6.0 client asking for username & password twice since latest MS update (re

I've installed the latest MS update (Remote Desktop Connection
(Terminal Services Client 6.0) for Windows XP (KB925876)) on my network
computers. The update made Remote Desktop Connection "more secure" by
making the users enter in their username & password twice. This isn't
more secure, and is just annoying for the users.

When the user clicks on the saved Remote Desktop Connection icon to
launch it, the get a window like this:
------------------------------------------------
Remote Desktop Connection
Enter your credentials for <server name>. These credentials will be
used when you connect to the remote computer.
User name:
Password:
[ ] Remember my password
[OK] [Cancel]
------------------------------------------------

They enter their account info, hit OK, then they get this window:
------------------------------------------------
Remote Desktop Connection
Do you trust the computer you are connecting to?
Before connecting to the following remote computer, verify that you
trust the computer to have access to your credentials and connected
devices.
Name of the remote computer: <server name>
Credentials:
Password for DOMAIN\username
Connected devices:
Changes to these options apply for this connection only.
[ ] Allow access to your local clipboard
Important: Verify that the settings being used for this connection are
coming from a trusted source.
Do you wish to continue and connect to this computer?
[ ] Don't prompt me again for connections to this computer
[Yes] [No]
------------------------------------------------

After clicking Yes here, the RDP connection to the server will open,
but the user has to enter their login info AGAIN! Clicking "Remember
my password" on the first window doesn't remember the password, so
users are annoyed that they have to enter the info twice.

Anyone find a way around this, or are we stuck with it?

Why not use the old version of the client software? I think it's available
from here: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/rdclientdl.asp
