Registry Restoration vs. Image Restoration.

Supposing if the system registry does get corrupted for various reasons,
wouldn’t it be better to restore image using Ghost (which takes not more than
10 mins) OR trying to restore a back up of the corrupted/ damaged registry,
so that the OS is running error free?
Regards!

You have this identical question posted in another group. Do not

Both are similar. Note that if you recover a copy of the registry from your \Windows\Repair directory, you should restore back your system (using System Restore) once you can boot up the computer. This is a way to ensure that the operating system files and regsitry entries are consistent. Restoring a cloned image is maybe a less tedious procedure.

Thanks a lot Mr. Daniel Martin,

For sharing your thoughts, experience. It did clarify my “BACK GROUND TYPEâ€
of question.

It reflects not just your knowledge, but your willingness to be helpful.

Rather than showing an arrogant, S_B attitude, which being a psychiatrist I
can well visualize in certain replies.

Regards,

Have a great day!

Hello Ms Malke,

I apologize about the multi post.

The reason was to split my Back Ground type of queries.

If you happen to have an up-to-the-minute current image of the
partition, sure. But if you've made a significant number of changes or
installed several applications since making the last image, taking a few
minutes to sort out the current registry is generally a lot quicker than
installing and old image and then bringing everything up to date, again.
