Registry import does not work

I'm trying to update the registry with a .reg file and it
doesn't seem to work. I checked and double checked the
syntax and its correct. I was running it from a batch
file with the /s option and it doesn't update. Even the
click on the .reg file seems to run ok with all the4
promts coming up, but does not update. I've also checked
permissions and they are set correctly. This is on a
fresh install of the OS BTW. Anyone have any ideas?

Ok an update, oddly enough, I was able to update a
different key with another .reg file. Don't know why.
The permissions on the two keys are Identicle. So the
problem is even stranger.

It could be a formatting or ANSI/UNICODE problem in the .REG file.
The "has successfully been merged" message is not reliable. Unwanted
line wraps can wreck havoc as well.

Rebuild your REG file anew, perhaps sticking with REGEDIT4 format.
