Registry entry under ExplorerBars\FilesNamedMRU

Stan

I have a registry entry in the path above which contains a
series of lines numberd 01,02 etc. with the first entry
the name of a batch file inet.bat, that is a known virus
ie bat.trojan. My question is what is this key ie
FilesNamedMRU and can the entire key be deleted ie
explorerbars and everything under it, or just the
FilesNamedMRU? I can not find any info on this key in the
knowledge base. Any help here would be appreciated and I
would also like to receive a seperate reply via email.

Any thoughts on how this registry entry was created
externaly? The only public access to this box is via port
80 for HTTP (our web pages) and it is behind a fire wall.

Thanks,
Stan

You can delete the numeric-named Reg_Sz string values found at;

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Explorer
Bars\{C4EE31F3-4768-11D2-BE5C-00A0C9A83DA1}\FilesNamedMRU

but leave the key.
