Heres the deal. A friend of mines computer took a strike of lightening that
traveled through his phone line. Both the modem and motherboard had visible
damage on them. However all his drives still worked including his hard
drive. So he ended up just buying a complete new system to replace his old
system. So we took his old drive and popped in into his new box. He would
like to recover all his files from his "My Document Folder" however he
password protected his account on his system to keep unwanted people off his
computer at school. Every time we try to access his user folder in the
"Documents and Settings" folder, it displays a message telling us that we do
not have enough privelages to access the information requested. There is no
sign that we are allowed to enter a password and user name anywhere to
unlock the folder. I also tried to make the hard drive the primary drive,
but windows wont let it boot due to all the hardware being changed. I even
tried making a new account on his new computer with the exact same username
and password to see if it would allow us to access the information on the
other drive. So now I'm stuck and out of idea's. I'm thinking maybe theres
some type of crack or tool out there that will allow me to enter the folder,
but I can't find anything. Any help or ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.

P.S. He is running WinXP Pro on his new system, and the older system also
had WinXP Pro.
