A we had many PC's that went into a reboot loop after getting an automatic
update. The PC rebooted after installing the updates and from then on it's
stuck in a boot loop. Never loads XP just goes to the boot options screen
(normal, safe mode, safe with net support, etc). No choice would work. Always
back to the boot menu. After many hours on the phone with a tech we found a
fix. I have lost the fix info but I remember it involved booting to recovery
console and extracting a file that the tech gave me to fix a corrupted file.
This was a widespread problem caused by a Windows Update.
We are having the problem again and I can't for the life of me remember the
the fix. For some reason after turning off Update it's back on all by itself
and we are getting updates again. Anyone have this problem and do you know
the fix.
