It sounds like you may have deleted an updated driver for the printer when
you reformatted the drive. There are two things I would do:

1) Make sure you have installed all current Win98 updates from microsoft.
(Start>Windows Update).

2) Check the Samsung website for the most recent driver for your printer
for Win98, and download and install it if there is one.

Thanks for the reply Don. I found the solution yesterday, and you were
right - it was a driver problem. The driver for the Netgear print
server had not been installed. I didn't realise that it needed one
because we managed to get it printing without!
