Re loading VIA 4 in 1 driver Update

I am running Windows XP Home with an Intel Processor, Original GeForce 256
video card, VIA chipset. So far, I am not having any problems per se, but
my video is running pretty slow--only at 2x instead of 4x. If I try loading
the 4 in 1 VIA driver updates, can I safely uninstall it without messing up
my system? My SoundBlaster Live 5.1 card documentation says that I should
have the VIA update loaded in order for my sound card to function
properly--even though I have not had any trouble that I am aware of yet.

I have a 50 series NVIDIA driver loaded from the Windows Update site at this
time.

My computer is a Micron Millennium Max GS 667mhz. There are motherboard
drivers available for Win98 and 2000, but not for XP. Since my PC is older,
I am not sure whether I should load the 4 in 1 drivers or not. I am
planning to get an updated video card, but not for another couple of months.

Any info would be appreciated!

HI,

I would install the latest version for VIA 4 in 1 hyperion
drivers(Ver. 4.51) they are compatible with your
motherboard & XP
from their website. They are backwards compatible, and
will work you should then notice a marked improvement in
your Video Card's performance. Check the BIOS to see, what
the settings for AGP are, sometimes AUTO will cause a 2X
reaction, and changing that to 4X should work, If upon
reboot, you notice video problems, then I would say that
card, is not able to run properly because of your CPU,
HDD, or MEM speed(or amout, I run XP with at least 256MB
of RAM, as it takes a good 178-190MB of it just to run the
OS....
