Answer 1: this is not a licensing problem (it can't be in Remote Admin
mode). You have exceeded the maximum of 2 concurrent connections. My guess
is that there are 2 disconnected sessions (or possibly 2 down session).
Log on at the console and have a look in TS Administration.
To avoid being locked out by disconnected session, you can enable the
Telnet service on the server. That way, you can always logon and get a
command prompt and kill the sessions.

Answer 2: Well, yes, you can. But since you cannot install Ofice while the
TS is in "install mode", you can get problems when more then one user runs
Office in Remote Admin mode.

Thanks for your answer, but there are no disconnected session and I still
can't logon. Any sugestions?

Thanks for your answer again. I managed to solve the problem without
re-installing TS. I re-installed Windows 2000 Service Pack 4. It doesn't
make much sense, but it works. I've scrutinized Event Log and found nothing
unusual. Now I'm afraid, that this problem would re-appear and next time SP4
won't help.

OK, good that you solved it! And thanks for reporting back, this goes into
my list of potential problems with SP4 on a W2K TS.

I wouldn't worry too much about it; seems to me most likely that the
installation of SP4 caused this, and then it ought to be a one-time-problem
(there have also been some reports where TS didn't even boot after
installation of SP, a second reboot fixed this. Let's hope you had a minor
variant of this problem;-)

Vera,
Thank you for your assistance! I am currently locked out from my Win2K
server due to

"The terminal server has exceeded the maximum number of allowed
connections." and another dialog box "The system can not log you on. The
system has reached its licesnsed logon limit. Please try again later. Please
try again or consult your system administrator."

This hasn't happened to me before. I am trying to connect to sessions that
should still be active, and therefor not "exceeding the licensed limit"! Of
course the server is in a remote location, and I must call someone in to
reset it, or get there myself. I am going to install another "backdoor", but
you mentioned using Telnet Server to kill those processes. Can you please
tell me how to do that (for future reference) or direct me to where I can
read about how to use Telnet to manager the server?

Thanks in advance,
John
