PST Acess Denied

I'm trying to import my old PST file (all 400megs) into my
new Outlook 2000 so I can recover my old saved emails,
etc, but I get, "File access denied. You do not have the
permission required to access this file..."
ANY IDEAS? thnx, b

try copying the file to a FAT32 partition or burning it to
a CD, anything that isn't formatted in NTFS, so that the
file will lose its DACL(security permissions). OR.. enter
the properties/security tab, and add the "everyone" group
to the list of users, and give everybody "full control".

Cheers

To resolve this issue, just remove the Read Only file property. To do this, right-click the file, click Properties, click to clear the Read Only check box, and then click OK. The Import process should now finish successfully.
