PS Guard not detected/cleaned by MSAS

I recently had a NASTY incident involving some garbage called PS Guard that
was apparently antispyware software but hijacked all of my settings and
symantec AV.

Does anyone know why MSAS allowed this and could not recognise/clean the
thing?

I think you might have a trojan on your machine, not just spyware.

There is a time frame from when something bad is released to the internet
and when these applications pick up on it. If people get infected, but don't
submit it for analysis, the manufacturers/developers don't know about it.
