proper procedure to prepare machine for imaging (or just for other users)

in particular, what account to use when installing all the applications. In
windows 2000 I had always (and was instructed to do so by an MCSE/MCT)
installed all apps as the local admin, then copied the local admin profile
to the default users profile. Never had any problems.

1) Should I be doing the same for XP Pro? I think I have read/heard
otherwise.

2) If the user profiles only contain user preferences and settings and NOT
security info whats the harm? Has this changed in XP? do they now contain
security info?
