Programs under Startup Folder in All Programs

In my windows XP, when I click on start and then select all programs, then go
to startup folder I see the following: Adobe Gamma Loader.exe

Do you guys know why is this the only file that is there?

Also when I click on this program located in the startup folder, nothing
happens. Do you guys know why nothing happens when I clicked on this program?

THANKS

It's a Photoshop program.

In Photoshop you adjust your gamma, then when you start up the Adobe
Gamma Loader.exe uses those settings for your display.

It lets you print pictures that look pretty much like what you see on
your monitor.

I should of add'd you can access the gamma adjustment in Photoshop or
from the Control Panel/Adobe Gamma

I haven't messed around with that gamma feature in Adobe Photoshop. So then
in my case it shouldn't matter that it is under the startup?

Is the reason that nothing happens when I click on the Adobe Gamma Loader.exe
is because it has already been loaded up since its in the Startup folder?

You might try the adjustment, if you view or edit pictures a lot it
really makes a difference on how they display.

If you remove the file from startup it will not replace itself; and
you would need to adjust gamma every time you use Photoshop

Myself, I just move the shortcut to my desktop until I need it, it's
just easier to replace that way.

Also the reason nothing happens when you click on it, is it's already
done it's thing :)

Thanks. I have been scanning some pictures. Just want to make sure, that by
me clicking the Adobe Gamma Loader.exe under startup folder, didn't change my
settings or something like that if I didn't mess around with the gamma
feature. So if I clicked on the Adobe Gamma Loader.exe under Startup, my
settings wouldn't have changed for when I scan would it?

In that respect, the change has already taken place (at startup) it's
not going to do anything else.

Adobe has a default Srgb monitor file, I would think if you haven't
adjusted your gamma, it would be loading that file.
