Problems with printing out of office 2003 after installing SP2

Now, after browsing through the threads about service pack 2, ive noticed
that most of them are about how crap it is. I have one thing to say, if it
works, its fantastic, if it doesnt, its more annoying that having nothing but
oprah on TV.

Now to my problem.

After installing SP2 on my computer, i noticed that printing documents out
of office 2003 seemed to be ridiculously slow. Also, its not just my
computer. Every other computer that i have done this to, has had the same
problem. These computers are generally quite different from each other in
regards to hardware and software. So im fairly certain that this is another
bug to add to the quite loooooooong list that they have to fix. Im curious to
know if they have fixed it or not or if there is a way around the problem
other than to uninstall SP2.

Thanks in advance for any replies! And good luck to anyone who installs SP2!

Well what do you expect?! This is a group for people with problems! To
paraphrase Jupiter - people don't pop into a hospital to tell the doctors
how well they are, do they?! And it isn't crap - people fail to prepare
their systems before installation.

There is no 'looooooong' list. I have installed SP2 on dozens of systems
(both mine and others) and have had no problems. You have obviously failed
to prepare the systems. I have SP2 installed and printing isn't slower (nor
is it on any of the other systems on which I've installed it). In fact, if
anything, it seems a little faster.

It's all too easy to blame SP2 when the problem is down to ill-prepared
systems.

Fail to prepare - prepare to fail.

Generally these systems that i am installing are fresh out of the box. Have
fresh windows installs and are upgraded with all of the latest upadates
before any other programs are installed. Most if not all of these systems
have office 2003 sp1 as well as the latest printer drivers.

Also, it doesnt seem to be machine specific as it has happened to almost
every computer that i have installed it on.

I cannot see how i have failed to prepare.

Even still, installing sp1 on a machine that has god knows done to it
generally installs and works fine. Why is SP2 different?
