I have the above Plantronics DSP400 USB headset. I installed
the software onto my desktop, plugged in the headset, and it works
perfectly.
I then installed the software onto my laptop, plugged in the headset,
got the requisite number of pings as the USB hardware was detected. The
software drivers are installed, but then all I can use is the
headphones, not the mic. Checking in the hardware list, it shows under
'Other Devices' a yellow question mark labelled 'Plantronics Headset'.
I can manually install the driver for this, but at the end it always
returns to the same situation, where the headset works, but the mic
doesn't.
Both systems are Windows XP SP2. Any ideas where the problem might be.
