Problem with dynamic allocation of IP address by DNS

modi_puneet

I am trying to use two network cards in one computer. One
netwrok card is used to connect to a hardware through
Motorola coldfire microcontroller, the IP adress for this
network card is specified in the firmware of the
micrcontroller. When I try to install the second network
card in the computer, it looks for the nearest hub for
its IP address and this dynamic address allocation for
the second network cards creates problem with the
specified IP address for the first network card and thus
the hardware connected to the first network card stops
working.

Will appreciate any inputs on how to resolve this problem.

I have heard of windows having problems with multiple network cards
installed. If you are running XP you can run the network wizard and specify
which connection is the wan side and which is the lan side. I believe this
will fix the issue.
