Problem playing DVDs in XP.

Im having problems making my Samsung SD612E (aka Model
12E) play DVDs in XP.

I know how to make it work:

1. Change the setting on your IDE ATA/ATAPI
controller to PIO only.
2. Run the SFDNWIN program, opening the file
B505 binary file.
3. Apply the update
4. Reboot and watch movies

The only problem is... where the hell do i find the IDE
ATA/ATAPI controller to change it to PIO only?

Hello

That process is wrong that you mention, it would be done in
your system BIOS

No, he's right. Click on IDE Controllers in the Device Manager.

The on the IDE Channel in question (0, 1 or 2)... then the Advanced Settings
box.

Hi Cari,

Thanks. Alvin made me look. I had to shut down, go into
my BIOS setup; but I didn't find anything that resembles
ATPI controllers, :)).

Control Panel - System - Hardware - Device Manager
Look in the IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers section (click its + box) for the
Primary and secondary controllers. Double click the one used, and on
the Advanced page set the appropriate device (Master or slave according
to how the drive is connected) to be PIO only
